Small entryways can be challenging to work with, but with the right storage unit & decor – you can totally achieve a functional and styled area that will also make a great first impression!
For ours, the tough part was finding a hidden shoe cabinet that can fit about 20 pairs shoes and that would also fit on the wall. With our current set up, there’s always a few extra pairs of shoes on the floor that get in the way of our pantry closet which is on the other side of the entry way (Not very hygienic!).
There weren’t that many shoe cabinets that fit my requirements – but I finally found this IKEA Brusalis that is 24″ wide and has a good amount of storage space! I was so happy to find a used one near me on FB marketplace. Installing IKEA furniture is NOT my most favorite thing in the world so if I can find one preassembled and in good condition, then SCORE!
I plan on painting it, switching out the knobs, and adding some detail on the cabinet doors to give it dimension. I’m thinking flutes 🤔
I plan on writing a post about the entryway makeover process, but for now – wanted to share some of the ideas that I have now.
Here’s a small entryway idea using the IKEA Brusali shoe cabinet with product links below:
- 18×18 round mirror
- Chunky woven tray basket
- Terracotta cross base bowl from Target
- Vase with faux branches (honestly so expensive but I think I could DIY a similar look!)
- Brass knobs
- Jute rug from West Elm
