Here are 5 small entryway decor ideas to maximize your space and make it feel more inviting!
Our entryway is small, very small. I think it’s fair to even call it tiny! It is around 2 feet wide and is adjacent to our front door. I used to feel very limited by its size, but after doing research and finding the right pieces to fill it up with – I am now confident to say that you can style up your entryway, no matter the size. These 5 small entryway decor ideas can help inspire you as you plan for your entryway.

5 Inviting Small Entryway Decor Ideas
1. A Small Shoe Cabinet for a Small Entryway
If you live by the rule of no shoes indoors or have limited closet space throughout your home, it’s likely that you’ll need some shoe storage in your small entryway. An enclosed shoe storage unit will reduce visual clutter (which you don’t want in a small space!). There are 2 types of shoe storage you can go with depending on space:
Shoe storage bench
I love how multifunctional storage benches are! To style one up, you can get a custom cushion with a pattern that matches the rest of your small entryway.

Tall shoe cabinet
A tall shoe cabinet can store a lot more shoes than a bench! Ikea has a great selection of tall shoe cabinets. We got the Brusali one because it fits perfectly against our small entryway wall and I did a little IKEA hack by giving it a fresh coat of light gray paint (Agreeable gray by Sherwin Williams) and swapping out the knobs.
2. A Mirror to Expand Your Small Entryway
A mirror will make your small entryway look bigger and help to brighten it up by reflecting light. It’s also functional and lets you to get a final look before you walk out that door. Lastly, it can be used as a decorative statement piece!

- Black arched mirror with holder
- Gold rounded mirror
- Rectangular wooden mirror (the one we got for our small entryway!)
- Traditional arch mirror by Kate and Laurel
- Oval metal framed mirror
3. Accent Wallpaper
Wallpaper can instantly transform a small entryway and give it its own styled moment. Here’s how wallpaper oomph-ed ours! Link to the wallpaper we used: Plaid wallpaper
4. Storage for Keys
Don’t lose your keys by keeping them in your entryway! We added a little tray basket for our keys, but there’s so many other ideas I’m loving for storage like hooks, trays, and bowls – that are both functional and decorative.

5. A Light Fixture to Set the Tone for your Home
A light fixture can ground your small entryway and set the mood for the rest of your home. It can also be used as a statement piece. We’re loving our new light fixture, especially how the brass accent helps tie the entryway together.
There’s SO MANY different light fixture styles that I can write an entire post about it! Things to consider when choosing your fixture are:
- the height clearance for your light fixture
- matching the light bulb warmth scale with the adjacent spaces of your home
- matching the metal accents with the theme of your home

Beautiful! What sheen of paint did you use and did you prep the cabinet in anyway before painting? Thank you for sharing!
